Not much is known about the real effects, but when the Corruption started healing, weird mutations emerged within the human genome, which drove different groups of the species into distinct habitats. Each resulting tribe, known as Gens, is devoted to the worship of a specific animal idol. This idol is connected to the respective habitat of the group and each member strives to be like it, to eventually become it. Depicted below is the flag of the Amphibian-Reptile Alliance, or ARA.
The ARA is a coalition of several different Gens. Its members are all adapted to thrive in the known habitats of amphibians and reptiles. The ARA is a very strange group, as its members often dabble in the occult and some of them have well-known connections to the House of Roots. The Toads of the Whisper Marsh are maybe the most notorious group in this regard. In the obscure and inaccessible environment of the marshland their mystics are unrestricted in their research into the secrets of ancient times.
