Like Kaduun, Arrowhead Peaks is one of the rare regions in the deep woods where the landscape dares to rise above the canopy of the exalted forest. The region is part of the greater Sky Kingdom realm. The term denominates both, the geographic region and the faction which dwells in it.
As the name might suggest, the Sky Kingdom is home to many of the bird Gens. These mutated humans are variants with very low bone density. Their primary mode of travel around the peaks is via one- and two-person gliders, which they call segeln.
Often preoccupied with their own squabbles, the birds are reclusive and seldom show themselves outside their borders. High above the treetops they anoint themselves as the true heirs of the forest, fuelled by an ideology that is rooted in supremacy. Other Gens, especially mammal Gens, are seen as inferior, a diluting presence to their pure society.
The steep Arrowhead Peaks can only be scaled by those who come prepared. To fully explore the Sky Kingdom as an outsider and non-bird Gens, one requires at least a sturdy set of Hawkfang Slippers. But no matter the preparation, confrontation with one of the Sky Kingdom’s Gens is almost always inevitable, as their flying scouts constantly soar along the borders and across the realm.
