Several versions of this warning sign are scattered all around the forest’s outskirts. Its Old Earth glyphs are modified to warn of the changing dangers. Mostly a sign for distant and desolate regions, the original intended warning has lost all meaning over the millennia. It tells a story of old sins buried underground. These evils have scarred the Earth irreversibly, but lost their potency over time. While time does heal some wounds it also provides room for new dangers to emerge. The diverse fungal tribes feasted on the wastes and dominated the environment in a cycle of digestion and regrowth, leading to the emergence of the vast and omnipresent fungal empire.

While most understand these glyphs as a clear message of warning, some see them as an invitation. Adventuring parties, teams of archaeologists, and also many who have more than sinister intentions regularly ignore the bad omens associated with the glyphs. The possibility of hidden treasure, knowledge, and resources, it draws a certain kind. But it needs to be said, whatever is to be found in such places, it always comes with a price. Either way, to explore the regions suffering from heavier infestation, one must come prepared. Sporecloak and Mycomask are the preferred choices of protective gear.
